The Need is Great

There are over 400,000 children in foster care in the United States, over 5000 in the Chicago area alone. The foster care system is overburdened and kids often spend years bouncing between homes. Trauma is woven into the fabric of their childhood – abuse and neglect leaving emotional and psychological scars. 

All children facing abuse and neglect are worthy of love.

Empowering foster youth to believe in their incredible value

  • Camp

    For over 18 years we have offered sleep-away camp for foster youth ages 7–11 from the Chicago area. Campers stay at a beautiful camp and make memories for a lifetime through positive relationships and a week of FUN!

Our Mission

We celebrate, coach and empower foster youth toward a brighter future

  • C E L E B R A T E

    We celebrate all kids in our summer camp and monthly mentoring through games, activities, storytelling and conversation. Our goal is to listen and love well, while building meaningful relationships with children facing abuse and neglect and their families.

    We coach kids in faith-based values, where they learn of God’s incredible love. As we build relationships, kids are coached through affirmation, encouragement and group discussion.

    We model positive action treating kids with dignity and respect. We help develop a greater sense of self-worth so confidence grows within them. With this confidence comes the realization they can become courageous adults to conquer life’s challenges.

In the wake of Covid 19, Royal Family Kids was renamed For The Children to bring clarity on how best to serve the issues facing children in foster care around the globe. For the Children’s mission is to provide hope, purpose and positive memories for children who have been traumatized by abuse, neglect or abandonment.
